January 17, 2014 | Wells Fargo Center, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
In their regular season opener on October 30, the Sixers began the game with a 19-0 run and stunned the defending champion Miami Heat, handing them a 114-110 loss at Wells Fargo Center. In Friday night’s rematch, the script was reversed.
This time around, the Heat scored the first points of the game and never looked back, outscoring the Sixers 34-24 in the first quarter and holding a double-digit lead for all 36 minutes of the final three frames.
The Sixers were led by guard Tony Wroten, who scored 13 points off the bench. Spencer Hawes added 10 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists, Evan Turner scored 11 points, and Thaddeus Young contributed 10 points, four rebounds, and four steals.
The Sixers return to action Saturday in Chicago, where they’ll take on the Bulls at 8:00pm.
